Marc Bouchkov at Wigmore Hall
On Tuesday 18 October we were delighted to officially welcome one of our newest Award Holders, violinist Marc Bouchkov, to the London Music Masters family, as he performed an absolutely fantastic debut recital at Wigmore Hall, one of the world’s most-renowned chamber-music venues. It’s one of the many high-profile performing opportunities that we give to all of our violin Award Holders, in association with the concert hall, one of our invaluable Creative Partners.
Marc and pianist Katia Skanavi performed a wonderfully varied programme of Bach, Prokofiev, Ysaÿe and Tchaikovsky, and the audience, which was also made-up of about 75 LMM Learning students, was completely blown away by their musicianship. Marc had spent the day before the recital visiting the children on our music education programme, LMM Learning, at Ashmole, St Barnabus, and Jessop Primary schools. Marc was able to share the repertoire in an intimate setting, hear the children play themselves and create some exciting improvised music with them. It was wonderful to see the young audience respond so positively to Marc and the whole performance having been introduced to it beforehand.
Marc’s Wigmore Hall debut recital was a true example of fine artistry. The way in which he demonstrated his passion and commitment to the music was vibrant and wholly inspirational, captivating the audience. It’s only the very beginning of our time working with Marc, and we can’t wait to see where the partnership takes us!
