Gregory Emfietzis was born and are up in Thessaloniki, Greece. He played the violin and sang, performing in many international festivals, concerts and operas, before taking a degree in Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia. He moved to the UK in 2004, to study for a Masters degree at Huddersfield University and a PhD at Brunel University. For more than 10 years, he has been working as an educator at schools, conservatoires, universities and privately. At the same time he has developed a career as a performer and composer, having received a number of prizes and commissions from organisations around the world (such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic, etc).
