Celebrating our graduates’ achievements!
As summer term draws to a close, London Music Masters celebrates another year of incredible achievements from the graduating Year 6 students on the LMM Learning programme.
In September, the children will move on to secondary school but will take with them over six years of instrument tuition, experiences of amazing creative and music-making opportunities, and music and personal skills which will last a lifetime.
They’ve performed at venues such as Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican Centre and Queen Elizabeth Hall. They have played with outstanding artists such as Maxim Vengerov, Nicola Benedetti and Nadine Benjamin. And throughout it all they have celebrated these achievements together with their friends, schools and families, putting music at the heart of many amazing memories.
This year we celebrated a 100% pass rate for all ABRSM Graded Violin exams. We are also proud that 38% of our graduates this year have taken up a music award or music scholarship at their secondary school, including one child being offered a place at Junior Trinity at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. He joins 10 other graduates of our Pathways programme who in recent years have won places at London’s highly competitive junior conservatoires. Pathways supports and nurtures children in our schools who are gifted musicians and come from communities underrepresented in classical music. It has a 100% success rate, with every Pathways student who has auditioned for a junior conservatoire being offered a place.
Importantly, 88% of this year’s students want to continue with the violin or pick up a new instrument in secondary school, and 77% of students have signed up to our ever-growing and exciting LMM Alumni programme. Through this programme, we offer our graduates’ opportunities to explore music in new and challenging ways and provide them with the chance to act as role models for our youngest students.
Next week, our graduates finish their time on our primary school programme with their finale Graduation performance at Wheatsheaf Hall, joined by their families, school staff and instrumental teachers. There is so much to celebrate in their past achievements, but even more exciting is what is to come in the future as they continue on their musical journeys.
