"I was stunned by the tremendously high standard of the entries. It was thrilling to see and hear such skill and commitment from the young violinists. This is clearly an award scheme which seeks and finds the best of the best..."
- Sir Roger Norrington, Conductor
Beginning in 2009, the LMM Awards are given every three years to three exceptional violinists between the ages of 18 and 28, recognising extraordinary musicianship with generous financial and career support.
The LMM Awards seek to help exceptionally talented young artists to further their professional careers while serving as positive role models, reaching new audiences and enriching their communities and themselves, identifying violinsts who:
- Have the potential to become an artist possessing both depth of understanding and musical insight
- Have the potential to develop great breadth of musicianship
- Possess a talent for communicating the art and craft of musical performance at the highest level

- Have a developing career that will be enhanced by the award
